言わずと知れた世界の人気都市・パリ。今年はオリンピックの開催地としてさらに注目が集まっています。この記事では、人生で一度は訪れてみたい、パリの観光地を英語でご紹介します。
ちなみにパリの公用語はフランス語ですが、有名な観光名所などには英語を話すスタッフやガイドが多くおり、主要な交通機関等でも英語のサインや案内があるため、英語を使ったパリ観光は比較的容易だと言えます。ただし、基本的なフランス語のフレーズ、特に挨拶や感謝の気持ちを示す言葉を覚えておくと、地元の人々から良い印象を持たれることが多いようです。
１. Eiffel Tower /エッフェル塔
The Eiffel Tower, built by Gustave Eiffel in 1889, is an iconic symbol of Paris and one of the most recognizable structures in the world. Standing 324 meters tall, it offers stunning views of the city from its observation decks.
エッフェル塔は1889年にギュスターヴ・エッフェルによって建設され、パリの象徴的なランドマークです。高さ324メートルのこの塔からは、街の美しい景色を楽しむことができます。
2. Louvre Museum /ルーヴル美術館
The Louvre Museum is the world’s largest art museum and a historic monument in Paris. It is home to thousands of works of art, including the famous painting, the Mona Lisa. The museum’s glass pyramid entrance is also a well-known architectural landmark.
ルーヴル美術館は世界最大の美術館で、パリの歴史的なモニュメントでもあります。モナリザをはじめとする数千点の美術品が展示されており、美術館のガラスのピラミッドの入り口も有名です。
3. Notre-Dame Cathedral /ノートルダム大聖堂
Notre-Dame Cathedral is a masterpiece of Gothic architecture, renowned for its impressive facade, beautiful stained glass windows, and flying buttresses. Though it suffered a fire in 2019, restoration efforts are underway to restore it to its former glory.

Montmartre is a historic district known for its artistic heritage and bohemian vibe. It’s famous for the Basilica of the Sacré-Cœur, which sits at its highest point, offering panoramic views of Paris. The area is also known for its charming streets and vibrant art scene.
モンマルトルは歴史的な地区で、芸術的な遺産とボヘミアン的な雰囲気で知られています。サクレ・クール寺院が高台に位置し、パリのパノラマビューを提供しています。また、魅力的な通りや活気あるアートシーンも特徴です。
5. Champs-Élysées and Arc de Triomphe / シャンゼリゼ通りと凱旋門
The Champs-Élysées is one of the most famous avenues in the world, known for its theaters, cafés, and luxury shops. At the western end of the avenue stands the Arc de Triomphe, a monumental arch commemorating those who fought and died for France in the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars.
シャンゼリゼ通りは世界で最も有名な大通りの一つで、劇場やカフェ、高級ショップで知られています。通りの西端には凱旋門があり、フランス革命戦争やナポレオン戦争で戦い、亡くなった人々を記念しています。
6. Luxembourg Gardens / リュクサンブール公園
The Luxembourg Gardens are beautifully landscaped gardens created in the 17th century. They feature a stunning palace, manicured lawns, fountains, and sculptures, providing a peaceful escape in the heart of Paris.

7. Seine River Cruise / セーヌ川クルーズ
A cruise on the Seine River offers a unique perspective of Paris, allowing you to see many of the city’s most famous landmarks, such as the Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame Cathedral, and the Louvre, from the water. It’s a relaxing and scenic way to experience the city.

8.Palace of Versailles / ヴェルサイユ宮殿
Located just outside Paris, the Palace of Versailles is a grand and opulent palace known for its lavish architecture, expansive gardens, and the Hall of Mirrors. It was the royal residence of France from Louis XIV to Louis XVI.
