Kokura English School is looking for friendly and supportive English teachers who enjoy teaching beginner-level students in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
Both Japanese and non-Japanese applicants are welcome to apply. We are not just looking for people who can speak English well.

Position Details
Main Responsibilities
- Teaching one-on-one and group lessons for English beginners
- Providing patient and supportive guidance based on each student’s level
Required Experience
- Experience teaching English is required
- Understanding of beginner learners and their needs
- Good communication skills and a friendly attitude
※ No English test scores or formal qualifications are required for foreign teachers.

Compensation (Independent Contractor)
Payment is per lesson, not hourly.
Rates
- One-on-one lesson (45 minutes): ¥2,300 (net/take-home)
- Some existing students take 60-minute lessons, so you may also teach 60-minute one-on-one lessons depending on the schedule
- Group lesson (60 minutes): ¥4,000 (net/take-home)
Based on lesson quality, teaching skills, and student feedback,
there are ongoing opportunities for pay increases.
※ Transportation allowance is not provided.
We welcome applicants who live nearby.
Work Schedule
- Location: Kokura English School (Kokura Kita Ward, Kitakyushu)
- 2–5 days per week (flexible, to be discussed)
- Main lesson hours: 10:00–17:00
You will start with a small number of lessons per month.
If your lesson quality is strong and students respond well,
we will gradually increase your lesson opportunities.
Additional Opportunities
At Kokura English School, we also organize community events such as:

- Seasonal events (e.g. cherry blossom picnics / hanami)

- Other international exchange events
If you are able to participate in these activities,
additional compensation will be provided.

Applicants must already have a valid visa that allows them to work in Japan.
