A friendly 90-minute evening.

Please arrive at 18:50 and stay until 20:30. Participation for the full 90 minutes is required. We change tables after 45 minutes so you can meet more people. Future international exchange events may have different details.

Who we are looking for

Warm, clear and considerate.

We welcome English-speaking international residents, including students, ALTs and foreign residents working in Kitakyushu. You do not need to be a teacher—what matters is helping everyone join the conversation.

Eligibility / 参加条件

  • Age 20 or older
  • Living, studying or working in Fukuoka Prefecture
  • Able to attend the entire 90-minute event
  • Comfortable holding a natural conversation in English
  • International residents from any country or region; English may be a first or additional language
  • Students, ALTs, company employees and people on a working holiday are welcome

During the event / お願いしたいこと

  • Speak slowly and clearly when needed
  • Invite quieter or beginner participants into the conversation
  • Talk with more than one group
  • Avoid over-correcting mistakes
  • Follow brief guidance from the organizer

This is social participation, not an English-teaching or staff role.

This is unpaid social participation. There is no honorarium beyond the transport reimbursement below.

Transport reimbursement

Transport within Fukuoka Prefecture is reimbursed in cash on the event day, up to ¥3,000.

Before you register: cancellations, photos and event rules

Please contact us at least 48 hours before the event if you cannot attend. Transport is not reimbursed if you do not attend.

Sales, religious or political promotion, aggressive solicitation, unwanted romantic advances and harassment are not allowed. A separate photo-use consent form is provided after the event, so you can decide then whether event photos may be published.

Taiga Nakano will welcome you.

Taiga runs Kokura English School and guides the evening. He will explain the simple flow, help with table changes and make sure first-time guests know where to go.
