Most of our students are Japanese adults, including beginners who may feel nervous about speaking. They need more than an English speaker: they need someone who can slow down, notice confusion, encourage without pressure, and treat every learner as an individual.
Because we are an independent school, instructors are not interchangeable. We are hiring one teacher and investing in careful training, honest communication and a long-term working relationship.
Strong English is essential. Good teaching goes further.

Required qualifications
Applications must meet every item below.
- Native-level English proficiency
- Japanese ability equivalent to JLPT N2
- At least one year and 100 completed English lessons of teaching experience
- Previous experience teaching adult learners
- Valid permission to undertake paid employment in Japan
- Reliable availability for an agreed recurring schedule
- Genuine intention to work with us for at least one year
Preferred qualifications
These are welcomed, but not all are required.
- Three or more years living or working in Japan
- Experience teaching Japanese adult beginners
- CELTA, CertTESOL, TESOL, TEFL or a similar qualification
- Experience adapting one-to-one lessons
- Strong understanding of Japanese communication culture
- Ability to give corrections in an encouraging way

A JLPT certificate is not required; Japanese ability is assessed during the interview. We recruit based on professional skills and suitability for the role, not nationality.
A premium rate, with a clear path to grow.
One paid work block is 60 minutes: 15 minutes of material review followed by a 45-minute lesson.
Gross amount before statutory deductions. Initial training is paid at the same hourly rate.
Subject to attendance and performance criteria.
Reviews consider reliability and punctuality, lesson quality, care for beginners, preparation and training participation, and communication/student feedback. Increases are considered through review and are not automatic.
Monthly pay examples at the starting rate
Transportation is paid separately. Sixteen blocks are guaranteed after a satisfactory three-month review while the agreed guarantee conditions are met. Additional blocks depend on student demand, availability and performance.

- Workplace & duties
- On-site at the school in Bashaku, Kokurakita Ward. Duties are lesson preparation, adult English lessons and required paid training. No transfer is currently planned; any future change would be discussed and confirmed in writing.
- Hours & days off
- Sunday closed; other days off follow the agreed schedule. Statutory breaks apply. No overtime is normally scheduled, and all required work is paid.
- Transportation
- Actual public-transport expenses, up to ¥10,000 per month, based on the reasonable route registered at hiring. No dedicated staff parking.
- Payroll
- Month-end closing; payment on the 15th of the following month
- Leave & insurance
- Annual paid leave, workers’ compensation, employment insurance and social insurance are handled in accordance with applicable law and scheduled working hours.
- Visa / work permission
- You must already hold valid permission for paid work. We do not provide new visa or change-of-status sponsorship.
- Future hours
- Additional hours may be offered as demand grows. A five-day or full-time position would use a separate agreement.

The practical teaching assessment is paid at ¥3,000 for 60 minutes, plus actual public-transport expenses up to ¥1,000.

Must I be a foreign national or a native speaker?
No nationality is required. We assess applicants on native-level English proficiency, Japanese communication ability, adult-teaching experience and suitability for the role.
Do I need a JLPT certificate?
No. You need Japanese ability equivalent to JLPT N2, but holding the certificate itself is not required. We assess your communication ability during the interview.
Is a university degree required?
No specific university degree is required. We evaluate your English and Japanese communication, teaching experience, practical lesson skills, reliability and suitability for Japanese adult learners.
Does the school sponsor a work visa?
No. Applicants must already hold a status of residence or permission that allows the proposed paid employment in Japan.
Are evening lessons required?
No. Friday and Saturday evening work from 17:00 to 22:00 is completely optional.
What if the school does not have enough student lessons?
Within the guarantee conditions, paid observation, practice teaching, material study or additional training may be assigned for school-side shortfalls.
Can I have another job?
Yes, side jobs are permitted, subject to your work-permission conditions and the recurring availability agreed with the school.

JLPT資格の保有自体は問いません。面接で日本語力を確認します。国籍ではなく、職務に必要な能力・経験・適性に基づいて採用します。
高水準の時給と、わかりやすい成長機会。
1勤務枠は60分。教材確認15分と45分レッスンを含み、全て労働時間として支給します。
税・社会保険料等の法定控除前。初期研修も同じ時給です。
勤務状況と評価基準を満たした場合。
評価項目は、時間・約束を守る信頼性、授業品質、初心者への配慮、準備・研修参加、学校との連絡および生徒からのフィードバックです。昇給は評価に基づく検討で、自動昇給ではありません。
採用時給での月収例
交通費は別途支給します。 3か月評価通過後の月16枠は、合意した保証条件を満たす間の最低保証です。 16枠を超える勤務は、生徒数・勤務可能時間・評価に応じて増やします。

合計8〜10時間3〜4週間程度。通常と同じ時給3,000円を支給します。
研修後〜3か月評価

3か月評価を通過後
月16枠・48,000円3か月評価通過後、合意した保証条件を満たす間の最低保証です。

保証条件の範囲内で、学校側の不足分を教材研究、見学、模擬レッスン、追加研修等の有給業務に振り替える場合があります。
副業はできますか。
可能です。在留資格等の条件と、スクールと合意する定期勤務枠を守っていただく必要があります。
