Let us share with you our international event we had the other day. The event is called the English only cafe where locals and people from different countries enjoy talking in English. It’s a great opportunity to make friends and get a small reward for foreign participants as speaking fee as well.
This time we had 9 guests including three guests from Australia, Germany, and Korea. We set up two tables. One is for beginners and the another is for intermediate learners.
Basically we do free conversations. This time participants talked about travel, music, the differences between Japan and other countries, etc. Though it’s been a while to have this event, it seemed like people enjoyed it! That was a big relief as a host.
At the end of the event, Rohan Smith from Australia, shared some slungs of Australia such as “Beauty” and “Mate”. He explained that these are common words to be used in Australia and Participants repeated after him to practice the pronunciation saying like “How’s it going, mate?”.
Thanks for reading! We look forward to seeing you there!
