Kokura English School is looking for friendly and supportive English teachers who enjoy teaching beginner-level students in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
We are not just looking for people who can speak English well.
We value teachers who can understand students’ feelings, encourage them, and help them feel comfortable and confident while learning.
Both native and non-native English speakers are welcome to apply.
We especially welcome teachers who can empathize with the challenges of learning a new language.
Position Details
Main Responsibilities
- Teaching one-on-one and group lessons for English beginners
- Providing patient and supportive guidance based on each student’s level
- Simple lesson preparation (materials are provided)
Preferred Experience (Not Required)
- Experience teaching English (preferred but not required)
- Understanding of beginner learners and their needs
- Good communication skills and a friendly attitude
※ No English test scores or qualifications are required for foreign teachers.
We value teaching attitude and communication skills more than certificates.

Compensation (Independent Contractor)
Payment is per lesson, not hourly.
The following rates are starting rates.
- One-on-one lesson (60 minutes): ¥2,000
- Group lesson (60 minutes): ¥4,000
Based on lesson quality, teaching skills, and student feedback,
there are ongoing opportunities for pay increases.
※ No transportation allowance is provided.

Work Schedule
- Location: Kokura English School (Kokura Kita Ward, Kitakyushu)
- 2–5 days per week (flexible, to be discussed)
- Main lesson hours: 10:00–17:00
- Start with a few lessons per week and gradually increase as you become comfortable
